About This Tool
Download named gorge and canyon locations as point data for any country. Coverage is strongest in the United States, Australia (Kimberley, Blue Mountains), New Zealand, France (Gorges du Verdon), Spain, Italy, India, Nepal, China, and South America (Chile, Peru, Argentina). Also solid coverage for Vietnam. Useful for geology, adventure tourism, trekking databases, hydrology research, and geomorphological mapping.
Point Data — What That Means
Each gorge or canyon is a single point at its centroid — a latitude/longitude coordinate with name and region. These are not linear waterway features, canyon rim polygons, or 3D terrain data. For full extent data, consider OpenStreetMap or national topographic datasets.
