DXF Tools
DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) is the open ASCII format Autodesk created so AutoCAD drawings could be exchanged between CAD applications. It is still the most common bridge between CAD and GIS workflows.
This page lists every DXF-aware tool on QuickMapTools: a browser viewer (no AutoCAD needed), and converters into every common GIS format. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Can I view a DXF without AutoCAD?
Yes — drop a .dxf file into the DXF Viewer and it renders in your browser. No CAD software required.
What is the difference between DXF and DWG?
DXF is an ASCII text format Autodesk designed for interchange. DWG is the binary proprietary format AutoCAD uses internally. DXF is the lingua franca between CAD and non-Autodesk tools.
Will the layers and colours survive conversion to GIS formats?
Layer name and colour information is preserved as feature attributes when converting to GeoJSON, Shapefile, or GeoPackage. You can filter by layer in any downstream GIS tool.
How do I convert a Microstation DGN file?
DGN files are not DXF, but our DGN to DXF converter (and DGN to Shapefile / KML / PDF) handles the most common DGN exports from Bentley Microstation.
